Greetings from Camp WCCS

Greetings from Camp WCCS:

We are three weeks into the summer and the participants at Camp WCCS are having a blast. “Once Upon A Summer” is where kids can dream of things out of this world and one day make those dreams a reality! So far the kids have experienced field trips to the Selma Skating Rink, Stillman College, and the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) Engineering School. These two activities coincided with their Math and Science courses. In addition to our weekly field trips, the 3rd, 4th , and 5th grade students have been working on Scientific Methods, Expanded Forms, Multiplications, Biography Poems, and Global Warming. While the 6th, 7th and 8th graders focused on Tessellations, Writing Prompts, Problem Solving, Biography Poems and Heat Transfer.

During the week of June 16th, the students, teachers, and counselors researched various countries and held a “Culture Exploration” program to showcase what they learned. Everyone actively participated and the event was a great success! With three weeks remaining in the program, we haven’t begun to scratch the surface.

It’s not too late to join us. Please call Ebony Rose, Camp Director for additional information at (334) 876-9410. Thank you for your continued support!
