ENGLISH

The English Department offers required courses for those students who are pursuing a technical certificate, AA, APS, AS degree, or for those wishing to transfer credits to a senior university. During the summer months, the department attracts a large number of transient students from universities such as Auburn, Troy University, as well as others across the state. Our courses include ENG 100 (Vocational/Technical English), ENG 101 (English Composition I), English 102 (English Composition II), ENG 271 (World Literature I), ENG 272 (World Literature II), as well as a series of Developmental English and Reading courses for those students who qualify. All of the courses within the department are offered in the traditional classroom as well as on-line. All of the English instructors hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in the field with several holding degrees and credits above the Masters level. Our four full-time instructors boast over 100 years of total teaching experience.
