This is a two-semester sequence course designed to cover general physics at a level that assumes previous exposure to college algebra and basic trigonometry. Specific topics of the first semester course (PHY 201) include mechanics, properties of matter and energy, thermodynamics, and periodic motion. Laboratory is required. Prerequisite: MTH 113 or equivalent.
Specific topics of the second semester course (PHY 202) include wave motion, sound, light optics, electrostatics, circuits, magnetism, and modern physics. Laboratory is required. Prerequisite: PHY 202
