Wallace Community College Selma Celebrated Nursing Graduates at the December 2024 Pinning Ceremony
Selma, AL – December 11, 2024 – Wallace Community College Selma (WCCS) honored its dedicated nursing graduates at the December 2024 Pinning Ceremony, recognizing their hard work, resilience, and commitment to excellence in healthcare. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, December 10, at 10:00 a.m., in the Earl Goodwin Theatre on the Selma campus.
The Pinning Ceremony is a time-honored tradition in the nursing profession. It symbolizes the graduates' transition from rigorous academic and clinical training to becoming compassionate, skilled caregivers. Family, friends, faculty, and community members attended this momentous event to celebrate the achievements of these future healthcare leaders.
Dr. James M. Mitchell, President of Wallace Community College Selma, expressed his pride in the graduating class: “Our nursing graduates represent the best of Wallace Community College Selma. Each graduate received a nursing pin during the ceremony, signifying their entry into the esteemed nursing field. The event’s guest speaker, Mrs. Webbie Calhoun, delivered an inspiring address, and the graduates recited the Florence Nightingale Pledge, reaffirming their dedication to ethical and compassionate care.
Wallace Community College Selma’s nursing program continues to prepare students to meet the healthcare industry's challenges through rigorous academic and practical training. Many of this year’s graduates have already secured employment opportunities or plan to further their education in advanced nursing fields.
