Wallace Community College Selma Celebrates Outstanding 2024 NCLEX Scores
Selma, AL - Jan 29, 2025 - Wallace Community College Selma (WCCS) is proud to announce the exceptional performance of its nursing students on the 2024 National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). The WCCS Associate Degree Nursing program achieved a remarkable pass rate of 95.65%, and the Licensed Practical Nursing program attained an impressive 94.44%.
These scores significantly surpass the national averages for 2024, which stand at 84.63% for first-time, U.S.-educated candidates in Associate Degree Nursing (NCLEX-RN) and 89.66% for first-time, U.S.-educated candidates in Licensed Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN), according to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
Dr. Pearlie Miller, Director of Health Sciences at WCCS, attributed this success to recent faculty and programmatic changes. "We made a lot of changes in the program that have been positive for the students and the program itself," said Dr. Miller. "Our faculty and staff have worked tirelessly to ensure students were getting what they needed to succeed."
WCCS President Dr. James M. Mitchell also praised the hard work and dedication of the nursing faculty and students. “These results are a testament to the commitment and perseverance of our faculty and students. Our nursing program continues to demonstrate excellence in preparing students for successful careers in healthcare,” said Dr. Mitchell. “We are extremely proud of their accomplishments and the positive impact they will have on the community.”
The dedication and hard work of the WCCS faculty, staff, and students have culminated in these outstanding results, reflecting the college's commitment to excellence in nursing education. The program's focus on comprehensive training and support has prepared students to pass their licensure exams and excel in their professional careers.
