The Office Administration program prepares students for a career in a professional office environment. Upon completion, students will be prepared for careers as administrative assistants or accounting clerks. As the business office relies increasingly on technology, organizations need well-trained, capable individuals to ensure that daily tasks are handled efficiently and effectively. This program will build skills in computer applications, administrative procedures, and communications.

This career program is not designed for transfer although many of the courses are transferable to some senior institutions. Students must have a “C” average or better in all courses credited toward the degree and a 2.0 cumulative grade point average in all courses attempted at the College.

Career Outlook: Secretaries and administrative assistants are employed in nearly every industry. Many are employed in schools, hospitals, and government, legal, and medical offices. Most secretaries and administrative assistants are employed full-time. According to the U. S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the median pay in 2020 for these positions was $40, 990 per year, or $19.71 per hour. The median annual pay for accounting clerks in 2020 was $42,410 per year or $20.39 per hour.
