Priority Dates
• Priority Deadline Date for Fall is July 1.
• Students should renew their FAFSA as soon as tax information is available.  Note:  The FSA ID has replaced the Federal Student Aid PIN and must be used to electronically sign the Federal Student Aid application.

Please take note:
• Books may be charged at the bookstore about two weeks before the first day of class.
• Students may check their financial aid at any time by logging on to MYWALLACESELMA.
• Students who register for classes that do not begin the first day of the regular semester may not be eligible to receive refund balances until the class has met and attendance has been verified.

Pell Grant
• Students are paid according to an amount of money the federal government determined for their eligibility coupled with the number of credit hours they are taking within their program of study/major.
• Pell Grant will not pay for courses not required by the program of study/major.
• Students who withdraw from all classes are not eligible to receive a balance refund check until the Return of Title IV calculation has taken place. The student may be eligible for a post withdrawal disbursement after that calculation has taken place. This process is in the best interest of the student to assure they will only pay back a minimal amount of funds.
• Pell Grant refunds are disbursed 14 days after classes begin

Attendance
• Students who have not attended class are not eligible to receive a Pell Grant refund. Instructors complete attendance verification electronically at designated times during the semester.
• Students who withdraw from a class that they never attended must have their financial aid reevaluated to determine the actual amount of aid they are eligible to receive.

FSEOG Information
Students must be undergraduates enrolled in an eligible program leading to a degree or certificate at an eligible institution.

• Students must be enrolled at least one term to receive FSEOG.
• Students must meet citizenship requirements as required for all Title IV Programs, as well as all other eligibility listed in the Federal Student Financial Aid Handbook.
• Priority for supplemental grants will be given to students with the lowest EFC. These students may receive Pell and FSEOG in the same term.
• Funds disbursement based on Credit Hours: Minimum 6 hours
• Students can receive between $100 and $4,000 a year
• There is no guarantee every eligible student will receive an FSEOG award.

Alabama Student Assistance Program (ASAP)
• Funds are awarded to eligible Alabama residents who demonstrate need
• Funds disbursement based on Credit Hours: Minimum 6 hours
• There is no guarantee every eligible student will receive an ASAP award

PACT
The Financial Aid Office works with families to facilitate Prepaid College Tuition requests.  Listed below are the required administrative procedures to process prepaid benefits:
• A student submits a copy of his/her current schedule along with their tuition request to the Financial Aid Office.
• Once the information is received eligibility will be verified and requests will be forwarded to the Cashier for billing and processing.
Most prepaid plans have limited semester hours available; for this reason, contract holders are asked to monitor contract balances. For information regarding your PACT account please visit their website.

If you have PACT, please e-mail brianna.craig@wccs.edu stating that you want to clear your tuition with PACT.  You must put your name (as registered with PACT), WCCS student number on this statement.

General Transfer Scholarship Information
If you are planning to transfer to a four-year institution, you should contact that institution for deadlines for Admission and consideration for Transfer Scholarship requirements. Some universities have applications for transfer scholarships listed on their websites. Most deadlines are January 1st through March 1st.
